3. Chargers
Phone, tablet, camera, and other device chargers can remain connected even afterthe device has been removed. Although the amount of electricity used by an individual charger is generally small, unplugging chargers when they are not needed is a simple household habit. It also helps keep charging areas organized.
4. Entertainment Devices
Televisions, streaming equipment, game consoles, and related electronics may consume some energy while waiting for commands or updates. If a device is rarely used, disconnecting it when appropriate can reduce standby consumption. However, some electronics perform scheduled updates or other functions while connected, so check the manufacturer’s recommendations before unpluggingthem regularly.
5. Office Equipment
Printers, speakers, monitors, and other home-office equipment may also remain in standby mode when they are not being used. If you work from home only occasionally, disconnecting equipment at the end of the day can be a practical way to reduce unnecessary power use. For frequently used equipment, a properly rated power strip can make switching several devices off more convenient.
