A Stranger Approached Me at the Bus Station With Food… See More

It can begin with a question as ordinary as whether someone has eaten.

For the person offering help, the action may take only a few seconds. For the person receiving it, those seconds may become part of a much larger memory.

That does not mean we should expect every small act to transform someone's life. We cannot know how another person will respond, and it is not our responsibility to control their feelings. We can only make the offer respectfully and allow them to decide.

The stranger did not know that I would remember the encounter. They did not need to know. Their gesture was valuable without any guarantee of recognition.

I also learned that accepting help can be as important as offering it. People sometimes hesitate because they do not want to inconvenience anyone or appear unable to manage their own problems. I understood that hesitation better after the encounter.
